Personalized Noninvasive Support is a study for people with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure, a serious condition where not enough oxygen reaches your blood. This study looks at two methods to help you breathe: NIV (Noninvasive Ventilation) and CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). Both help keep your lungs open with air, but they do it differently. Researchers want to see how these methods work when adjusted to each person’s breathing effort.
During the study, you will wear a special helmet that helps you breathe. They will try different air pressure levels to find the best one for you. They’ll also use a small tube in your esophagus (a part of your throat) to check your breathing effort. The goal is to find the right pressure level that helps you breathe comfortably.
