Phase N/A

Nurse Intervention Trial is a study for patients starting new headache prevention treatments. The goal is to see if following up with a headache nurse improves patient satisfaction compared to regular follow-ups with their doctor.

Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups:

  • Group A: Receive phone calls from a headache nurse at 2 and 6 weeks after starting treatment, with a final follow-up after about 3 months.
  • Group B: Manage their follow-ups with their doctor, with a similar final check-up.

To join, you must have seen a neurologist for a headache consultation. You should have a specific headache diagnosis and be starting a new preventive medication. Some tests may be needed, like an EKG, especially if you're starting certain medications.

Key Points:

  • Study lasts around 3 months with a few follow-up visits.
  • Participants may receive phone support from a nurse or manage their own follow-ups.
  • Must have specific headache diagnoses and be starting new medication.
