Acceptability of Hip Protector Airbags in Older People

Recruiting
60 years and older
Both
Phase N/A

We want to find out if older people will wear hip protector airbags and find them comfortable. These airbags are special pads that protect the hip when someone falls. Traditional ones were uncomfortable, so not many people used them. But now, with airbag technology, they might feel better to wear. We need to know if people living in the community like them and find them useful. If you’re 65 or older, have fallen in the past year, and are worried about falling, you might join this study. But, you can't be living in a nursing home or need help moving around. You should also be able to put on and take off the airbags yourself.

  • The study will look at how comfortable these airbags are when worn.
  • Participants must have had at least one fall needing medical care in the past year.
  • Feedback will help decide if larger studies on hip fracture prevention will happen.
