Phase N/A

This study is for people living with HIV to check if they have oral HPV (a virus that can cause warts and other problems in the mouth) and if they have any mouth sores. Participants will be evaluated at the Vivent Clinic, which provides comprehensive care for people with HIV. The study will look at factors like age, race, tobacco use, and other health issues to see if they relate to having oral HPV or sores. An oral swish and spit sample will be collected, and an oral exam will be done by a dentist. The clinic uses a strong Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to help gather data for this study.

  • Study is conducted at Vivent Health Clinic in Denver, taking about 300 people.
  • Participants must be willing to provide oral samples and have an oral exam.
  • Some exclusions include a low CD4 count (a type of blood cell), or a history of oral cancer.
