Preventive Effect of I-Fiber Pearl on Body Weight and Body Fat in Obese Adults

Study Overview: This study is about testing a product called I-Fiber Pearl to see if it helps with losing weight and body fat in adults who are overweight. It will last for 12 weeks and include 50 people. The participants will be split into two groups. One group will take the I-Fiber Pearl, and the other group will take a harmless placebo (a substance with no active ingredients) that looks and tastes the same. Both groups will be asked to take 200g of their assigned product each day. Participants will also provide information and samples, such as food records, urine, feces, and blood, at the beginning and end of the study.

Eligibility: To be part of this study, you must be a female aged between 20 and 50, have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 27 or more, and a waist size of at least 80 cm. You cannot participate if you have cancer, heart disease, or are taking certain medications.

  • **Duration**: 12 weeks
  • **Visits**: Two assessment visits (week 0 and week 12)
  • **Risk**: Minimal, as it uses a placebo for comparison
