Depression means feeling very sad or hopeless. It is a big concern for young people in the Netherlands. About 4 out of 100 teenagers have major depression, and many others feel sad sometimes. Special schools have teens who might be at risk and need special help. This study will help find and support these teens by screening them for depression and suicide risks. Teens with signs of depression can join a special program called "Op Volle Kracht," which means "At Full Strength" and is based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). This program is held at their schools to help them feel better and avoid deeper depression. If the program works well, it will be offered to more students. Teens who need more help will be guided to mental health care, along with their parents. Teachers will also learn how to notice and respond to signs of depression and suicide thoughts. 🏫💪
