Study Summary:
Patellar fractures, or breaks in the kneecap, can make it hard to use your knee properly. The goal of fixing these fractures is to help the knee move without pain and to make sure you can straighten and bend your leg again. This study looks at a new way to fix these fractures using special plates called MatrixNEURO Contourable Mesh plates. These plates are usually used for face and head injuries but have been found to work well for certain kneecap fractures. They help keep the broken pieces stable while the knee heals.
Key Points:
- This study is for patients over 16 with simple kneecap fractures.
- The study excludes those with open fractures, other knee deformities, or injuries to the same leg.
- Participants will have a new type of plate used in their treatment to see if it helps with healing.
This study offers a new treatment method that might help the kneecap heal more securely. If you fit the criteria, this could be a chance to try a new approach that might lead to better recovery.
