This study looks at people who have had a certain type of stroke (called acute ischemic stroke or AIS), caused by a blockage in a large blood vessel (known as large vessel occlusion or LVO). Normally, a treatment called endovascular therapy (EVT) is used within 24 hours of a stroke. This study, called TRACK-LVO Late, examines if EVT is helpful beyond 24 hours. EVT is a procedure where doctors use tiny tools inside the blood vessels to remove the blockage and restore blood flow. The study also compares EVT to the best medical treatment (BMT) available when EVT isn't used. The study will run from January 1, 2018, to January 1, 2028, and includes patients who had a stroke over 24 hours ago. Patients will have to undergo imaging tests like CT or MRI to confirm the stroke and large vessel blockage. It aims to see which treatment works better for these patients.
