Accidental Hypothermia happens when your body gets too cold, often due to things like snow sports, falling into cold water, or being outside in the cold. Your body's core temperature drops, and if it goes below 35°C/95°F, it can be very dangerous. The International Hypothermia Registry (IHR) wants to learn more about this condition by collecting information from people who experience it.
The registry will help doctors understand the best ways to warm people up and treat them in hospitals. Sometimes, the body can warm up by itself, and other times special techniques are needed. The study will look at how these methods and the patient's initial condition affect recovery.
- Anyone with accidental hypothermia, regardless of age or health, can be included.
- The study does not require any specific treatment; it just collects data.
- Patients who do not wish to participate or those with missing information won't be included.
