This study looks at how common internet addiction is among adults in Hong Kong and how it affects their mental health and well-being. Internet addiction (IA) means spending too much time online, which can lead to problems like anxiety, depression, and poor sleep. The study will use questionnaires to ask about internet use, feelings of depression and anxiety, sleep quality, quality of life (QOL), and basic demographic information, especially during COVID-19 and the rise of the Metaverse. The Metaverse is a virtual reality space where people can interact using the internet. The Internet Penetration Rate (IPR) is how many people in a place use the internet. The IPR in Hong Kong is 93.6%. This study wants to see if the pandemic and Metaverse have changed IA in Hong Kong.
