This study looks at how a medicine called Psilocybin (TRP-8802) helps people with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) when used with therapy. IBS makes your tummy hurt and changes how often and how your poop looks. Psilocybin is a drug that can change how you feel and think. People in the study will take the drug twice and see how it affects their IBS and any feelings of sadness or worry.
The study lasts for about 1 year. First, there's a 28-day check-up to ensure it's safe to join. Then, some will start taking the drug right away, while others will wait 8 weeks. Everyone will have appointments during and after taking the drug to see how they're doing.
Participants must be 21-64 years old and healthy enough to join. They can't smoke or use certain medications. They also need to track their pain and poop daily using a special tool.
Joining this study could help understand IBS better and find new treatments. 😊
