Sarcopenia is when muscles become weak and lose mass. This study looks at people with head and neck cancer (HNC) and how sarcopenia affects them when they are treated with hadrontherapy, a special type of particle therapy that uses tiny particles to kill cancer cells. The study checks if muscle loss leads to more side effects during and after treatment. These side effects are called toxicities. They measure muscle mass by looking at the C3 vertebra, a bone in the neck, and see how it relates to these side effects.
Eligibility includes being over 18, having HNC, and being fit enough to participate. People with very advanced cancer or mental health issues that affect understanding cannot join.
