Sarcopenia means having low muscle mass, and this study looks at how it affects patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) who are treated with a special type of radiation called particle therapy. The study will check for acute toxicity, which are side effects that happen within 3 months of starting the therapy, and late toxicity, which are side effects occurring more than 6 months after finishing therapy. They use rules from the NCI's Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) to decide how serious the side effects are.
- Study Length: You will be monitored for side effects for at least 6 months after treatment.
- Eligibility: You must be over 18 years old, able to give consent, and not have other serious illnesses.
- Risks: Checking for sarcopenia involves measuring muscle mass, which might be uncomfortable.
