Study Purpose: This study looks at how video game-based exercises can help people recover better after open heart surgery. The focus is on improving lung function and independence in daily activities.
Study Details: Participants will be split into two groups. Both groups will follow a 12-week cardiac rehabilitation (heart health improvement) program after surgery. The second group will also do video game exercises with "Breathing Labs Breathing Games" in the hospital and Xbox games at home. Exercises are twice daily in the hospital and three times a week after discharge. Tests will be done before surgery and after 12 weeks to measure changes in strength, activity, and quality of life.
- Duration: 12 weeks with follow-up visits.
- Activities: Cardiac rehab and video games for some.
- Eligibility: Under 65, stable health, willing to join, good mental score.
Participants must not have severe health issues that affect walking or other activities, like uncontrolled diabetes or serious vision problems.
