The Anesthesia Effects of Dexmedetomidine Combined With Desflurane or Propofol in Lobectomy

Phase N/A

When people have lung surgery called a **lobectomy**, they often need special breathing help called **one-lung ventilation**. This means one lung is not used so doctors can see and work better. But this can sometimes cause problems with breathing after surgery. This study looks at two ways to help during surgery: using **dexmedetomidine** with **desflurane** or with **propofol**. Dexmedetomidine helps calm patients, and it may lower the risk of feeling sick or confused after surgery. Desflurane and propofol are both used to keep patients asleep during surgery. This study wants to find out which combination helps patients wake up quicker and have fewer breathing problems after surgery.

  • The study is for people over 18 having certain lung surgeries.
  • Patients must be healthy enough for general anesthesia.
  • Those participating cannot have serious health issues like severe asthma or heart problems.

If you join this study, you will get one of the two anesthesia methods during your surgery, and doctors will see how well you recover. If you have questions, the study team can help explain more or see if you're a good fit!
