Study Purpose: This study uses a special type of MRI, called MR elastography (MRE), to look at liver tumors from colorectal cancer. MRE checks how the tumor sticks to the liver, helping doctors understand tumor growth patterns.
Colorectal cancer is cancer that starts in the colon or rectum, part of the digestive system. Sometimes this cancer spreads to the liver, called metastasis. Different growth patterns can affect treatment and survival. Usually, these patterns are only seen after surgery, but MRE might help see them before surgery.
This study is significant because it might help doctors plan treatments better for patients with liver tumors from colorectal cancer without needing surgery first. If interested, discuss with your doctor to see if you qualify.
