Phase 2

The ACE Trial is a study to see if a soy-based supplement called Equol can help keep blood vessels healthy, slow brain aging, and improve memory. Equol is like a plant version of estrogen, a hormone in our body. Scientists are checking if Equol can help in ways that other soy products haven't been shown to. This study is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), which means it's safe to try.

The trial is happening in several places, like the University of Pittsburgh and Emory University. If you join, you'll take Equol pills every day for two years and visit the doctor 7 times during that period. They'll do checks like Pulse Wave Velocity to see how flexible your arteries are and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to look at your brain.

  • Requires 7 clinic visits over 2 years.
  • Daily Equol pill for 24 months.
  • Must be between 65-85 years old, not taking other soy supplements.

This study is mainly for healthy older adults who want to help science and possibly enhance their cognitive health.
