Phase N/A

Caregiving While Black is a study to help Black American caregivers, who take care of family or friends with dementia, feel more confident and prepared. Dementia is a condition that affects the brain, making it hard for people to remember things or think clearly. The study has two phases, and participants can join either or both. Caregivers should be 18 or older, identify as Black American, and give hands-on care multiple times a week. They should also have internet access to use the online course. Participants will be in the study for 6 months. They will be split into two groups: some will start the course right away, and others after three months. The study will look at how the course affects caregivers' skills and well-being.

  • Study duration: 6 months
  • Internet access needed for the online course
  • No plans to move the person with dementia to an institution soon
