Caregiving While Black is a study aimed at helping Black American caregivers who take care of people with dementia. Dementia is a condition that affects memory and thinking. The study will test a special online course designed to make caregivers feel more confident and skilled in their roles. Caregivers must be 18 or older, identify as Black American, and provide regular hands-on care. They should also have internet access to participate in the online course. The study lasts for 6 months and involves interviews and surveys. Caregivers will be divided into two groups: one starts the course right away, and the other waits 3 months. This project aims to support caregivers in dealing with the challenges they face, improve their quality of life, and reduce stress.

  • Study duration: 6 months with interviews and surveys.
  • Participants must be Black American caregivers, 18 or older.
  • Internet access is needed to join the online course.
