A Study to Assess the Effect of Dexpramipexole in Adolescents and Adults With Severe Eosinophilic Asthma.

Recruiting
12-99 years

Phase 3

This study is testing a new pill called dexpramipexole for people with severe eosinophilic asthma. Eosinophilic asthma is a type of asthma where a lot of white blood cells called eosinophils build up in your lungs and make it hard to breathe. The study wants to see if dexpramipexole can help people who already take strong asthma medicines but still have trouble controlling their asthma. Participants will either get the real pill or a placebo (a fake pill that doesn't do anything) for about a year. There will be around 1,400 people from around the world in this study.

  • Participants need to visit the study center multiple times over 56 weeks (52 weeks of treatment plus 4 weeks follow-up).
  • Potential benefits include better asthma control, but there might be unknown risks.
  • Participants must be at least 12 years old and have a history of asthma attacks in the past year.

If interested, participants should be comfortable with frequent visits and have a parent/guardian consent if under 18. 🏥💊
