Feasibility and Effectiveness of Augmented Reality Assistance System for Pancreatic Surgery

Exploring Augmented Reality to Help with Pancreatic Surgery

Recruiting
18 years and older
All
Phase N/A

Pancreatic cancer often needs surgery to remove the tumor entirely. This can be hard because the pancreas is close to important blood vessels. Augmented reality (AR), which adds computer-generated images to real life, might help make these surgeries safer and more precise. This study will test a new AR system that doctors can wear during surgery. This system might help them see a 3D model of the pancreas and nearby vessels better. The study wants to see if this AR system is useful and effective during pancreatic surgeries.

Key Points:

  • The study involves adults over 18 who need pancreas surgery.
  • It excludes those with tumors that can't be removed.
  • The findings might be published in a scientific journal.

Why should I take part in a clinical trial?

Participating in a clinical trial provides early access to potentially effective treatments and directly contributes to the healthcare advancements that benefit us all.

How long does a clinical trial take place?

The duration of clinical trials varies. Some trials last weeks, some years, depending on the phase and intention of the trial.

Do I get compensated for taking part in clinical trials?

Compensation varies per trial. Some offer payment or reimbursement for time and travel, while others may not.

How safe are clinical trials?
