This study aims to use sound waves and different techniques to study thyroid nodules, which are lumps in the thyroid gland. The thyroid is a small, butterfly-shaped gland in your neck that helps control your body's energy. The study focuses on using new imaging methods to find out if thyroid nodules are cancerous (malignant) or not (benign). These methods include Vibro-Acoustography (VA), Shear Wave Ultrasound Vibrometry (SDUV), and Comb Push shear elastography (CUSE). These methods will be compared to regular ultrasound, which is a common way to look at the thyroid.
Participants will be selected if they are 8 years or older, suspicious for thyroid cancer, and have specific types of neck masses. Patients with previous thyroid cancer will also be studied.
- The study is observational, meaning participants will have regular ultrasound imaging.
- No extra treatment will be given as part of this study.
- Children under 8 and those who had recent biopsies may not participate.
